This last November 12th the St Louis Triumph Owners Association hosted the tenth rendition of our traditional end-of-season fundraiser, honoring our veterans. We had excellent weather and an excellent turnout, including eight Triumphs, three MGBs plus a varied mix of other vehicles, including an immaculate ’66 Chevrolet Impala SS.
The route took us from our usual starting point, the State Farm parking lot near IL 3, south on the twisty roads of the Mississippi River bluffs to Prairie du Rocher. There, we did something new: instead of continuing to Chester or the Ste Genevieve ferry, the convoy turned around and headed to The Sunset Overlook on Bluff Rd, below Columbia, for lunch and tire-kicking.
All in all, a great success. Donations by the participants totaled $700, which went to the Purple Heart Foundation. Great day!
