Most in SLTOA are aware Yr Fthfl Ed is a former Fiat owner: 1976 Fiat X1/9 (one of the best cars I’ve ever owned) and an ’81 124 Spider (the all-time worst car I’ve ever owned, beating out a 2007 Jeep Commander). I also autocrossed a 124 back in Tucson 1971-1972. Anyway, while out in…

Spied in the parking lot of Dierbergs on Manchester (the one west of MO 141), Sunday afternoon, 5 February. One of two things: the owner of this Oldsmobile felt obligated to pay homage to the noble bumblebee…or he/she’s a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Last night, my normal 1+15 commute home from Scott AFB took 4+30 but, fortunately, I managed to…

Darn fine gathering of the Triumph (and MG…and Austin-Healey) faithful at the Missouri Athletic Club-West Friday night for the annual SLTOA Christmas Party. In and around the usual great surroundings, service, food and drink, we had a strong turnout; lots of good conversation and the gift exchange – organized by “Mrs Santa’s Little Helper” (Bonnie)…

One week following the autocross, SLTOA held its 4th annual Veterans Day Run, a 200+ mile drive to Chester and Perryville and back which raised money for The Purple Heart Foundation, one of a number of veterans/vet’s family support groups. Taking advantage of the great weather (still!), this drive constituted the biggest effort yet, with…

Am coming off an unplanned multi-week layoff with the blog, due to technical issues (which is a euphemism for “I forgot the password”). It’s now a couple of days after Thanksgiving and as per usual, driving in the vicinity of complexes like West County Mall and the two outlet malls in Chesterfield Valley is an…
