All British!

Holy cow, what a day…THE long-standing big event for the local British car faithful, held at Creve Coeur Lake Park on Saturday, 21 September. According to one of my contacts with the MG Club of St Louis (the event organizing club), they had 121 pre-registrations and I figure we wound up with about 130 on the display field.

Big turnouts by the MGs (no surprise there), Jaguars, Austin-Healeys and Triumphs, along with a number of other interesting cars and impressive lineup of motorcycles. To be sure, the weather was borderline hot and definitely humid, but we got a 24-hour reprieve from serious rain and made the most of it.

Congrats and thanks to the MGCStL in organizing and running the event, and thanks to Scout Troop 777 from Fenton for the food concession.

One of the standouts (and, IIRC, recipient of the Chairman’s Trophy): a 1930 MG 18/80 Mk2. Wow…
