All British!

One of the absolute delights of the British car hobby is the opportunity to get together once a year with other LBC members for The Big Show.  If you monitor the calendar sections of clubs/organizations/companies like VTR, Moss Motors, the Roadster Factory, etc, you’ll note these all-Brit gatherings occur all over the country and they’re usually a major hoot.

On Saturday, 22 September, the MG Club of St Louis held the 37th annual All British Car & Cycle Show, on the grounds at Creve Coeur Lake Park.  The weather cooperated and we had a fine turnout, totaling 177 cars (up about 20 over last year), plus a larger number of visitors than last year.  And, as Bob – a fellow TR8 owner – pointed out, this year’s event, for whatever reason, didn’t incorporate the sound of acorns falling on car hoods.  Either it was too early for the nuts to drop out of the trees or the squirrels were on strike.

Anyway, fine representation by the British car clubs, plus the usual assortment of unexpected/unusual vehicles, such as the two – count ’em, TWO – Morris Minor pickup trucks.  One of the Morris owners made the drive from Jefferson City to participate in the festivities.

For SLTOA, an equally great day, with good business at the food concession and an excellent mix of vehicles.  We do manage to have fun when we get together in large numbers…Anyway, next year’s 38th annual will take place on 21 September.  Keep an eye on https://allbritishcarshow.com/.
