On the Road to Andy’s Garage

St Louis is a great place for sports/special interest car ownership and driving. A lot of our club drives take place to the west and southwest of the city or across the Mississippi in the Illinois bluffs, where the twisty roads are. Ah, but the flatlands of north St Louis and St Charles Counties provide equally scenic driving opportunities.

For example, on Saturday, 14 June, several of the club faithful gathered at the regularly scheduled Cars & Coffee event at Fast Lane Classic Cars. At 10 AM, we headed east through north Florissant towards the Mississippi River in the vicinity of West Alton, then worked our way west via Portage des Sioux and Smartt Field, winding up in St Charles proper at member Andy’s restored old Texaco station, complete with old Texaco gas pumps.

Good day for a drive and we may have ID’d a new meeting location. Our thanks to Andy for hosting the gaggle and our thanks to all who participated. We certainly had an eclectic bunch of cars on this run…
