2024 Annual SLTOA Fall Colours Drive

The SLTOA’s annual Fall Colours Drive will take place on Saturday, 26 October this year. Join us for a scenic drive near where the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers meet. Drivers will begin to meet around the McDonald’s at 717 E Broadway in Alton, IL around 9:30am. There will be a driver’s meeting at 9:45am, and the drive is scheduled to depart at 10:00am. The route continues to Principia College for a stop to overlook the Mississippi River. The drive will proceed on to Eckert’s Orchard and Grafton Winery, then cross the Illinois River on Brussel’s Ferry. The route ends at Wittmond’s Restaurant in Brussels, IL for lunch.

There is no charge to cross the Illinois River on Brussel’s Ferry. Wittmond’s Restaurant serves all meals to the table family style, with no menu selection. There is a fixed price for each person dining, and the restaurant accepts only cash – no credit cards.

Missouri residents can return via the Golden Eagle Ferry, which costs $9 per car to cross the Mississippi River.
