Yeah, well, not much in the “polar” department, what with clear skies and temperature in the low 70s. BUT, we did have three polar bears join us: two stuffed and one ambulatory (the latter arrived in a red MGA…there might be a message there).
Anyway, we had 42 cars and about 75-80 participants, driving a wide range of vehicles. The procession included 10 Triumphs, 7 MGs, 1each Jaguar F-Type and Jensen Healey, 2 Corvettes, 9 Miatas/MX-5s, 2 BMWs, plus one each of the following: Volvo 1800ES, Fiat 500, 1963 VW, Toyota MR2, Porsche 912, Audi TT, Ford Mustang, New Mini (driven by the duty Welshman…Cymru am Byth!) and a Mercedes-Benz SL550. The group went on a highly entertaining drive along backroads to the southwest, winding up at the Big Chief Roadhouse on old US 66 in Wildwood.
All in all, a great day and a great start to the 2024 driving season.
