Middle of January and we have a two-day break from the cold weather. Pushing the mid-40s, partly cloudy skies, perfect opportunity to get the High Speed Doorstop (HSD; my ’80 TR8) out for a local recce run, right? Perhaps take in a nice sunset from Queeny Park?
Wouldn’t you know it: spent a couple of hours this afternoon with the TR8 up on jackstands and fellow SLTOA’er Creig doing a critical appraisal of the rear suspension and running gear. Looks like the rear coils need new bushings (might as well replace upper and lower, eh?) plus some other work, details of which I’ll mention at the next SLTOA meeting. Ah well…
Thanks to Creig for the assist…and after lying on the garage floor, next to the car, under the car, getting up to fetch tools and sockets, getting down to photograph the proceedings, etc, I decided against getting the HSD out for a few minutes. My office and space heater won out…
